What time is check-in and check-out?+
Check-in is from 2:00pm and check-out is by 10:00am. Let reception know if you need to drop bags early or late — we'll always try to help.
How do I get in when I arrive?+
BunkHouse uses keyless digital entry. Your digital key is emailed to the address you book with — check your junk folder too, and if it's there, move it to your inbox or the key won't work. When you arrive, open the email (search “BunkHouse” or “digital key”), tap the pink web-app button, then press and hold “Main entrance” until the door turns green. Do the same for your room door, then pick any bed with a folded duvet and pillow.
Is BunkHouse safe for women travelling alone?+
Yes. We have a female-only dorm with its own female-only washroom, keyless digital entry, CCTV across the property and a strict zero-tolerance drugs policy. Guests also need to be 18 or over.
How far is BunkHouse from the Principality Stadium?+
About 300 metres — roughly a four-minute walk. Cardiff Castle is just two minutes away and Cardiff Central station about five, so you're right in the middle of the city centre.
Is there a minimum age to stay?+
Yes — you need to be 18 or over to book and stay at BunkHouse.
What's the difference between the dorms?+
We have female-only dorms with their own female-only washroom, and mixed dorms open to everyone. Both have the same bunks, lighting and storage — just choose the one you'd prefer when you book.
Is there a kitchen I can use?+
Yes — there's a small self-catering kitchen with a microwave and an air fryer, free for all guests to use.
Do you have laundry and towels?+
Yes. Ask at reception for fresh towels or our laundry service.
Can I get some work done there?+
Yes — there are work stations with free WiFi, plus a large dining table that doubles as a meeting table for groups.
Is there somewhere to store my luggage?+
Yes, we can hold bags before check-in and after check-out — just ask at reception.
How do you keep the hostel secure?+
Entry is keyless and digital — your entry details are emailed to you when you book — so only guests can get in. The property is covered by CCTV, and we operate a strict zero-tolerance drugs policy throughout the building.
Can I book directly instead of through a booking site?+
Yes — hit “Check availability” anywhere on the site to see live rates and book straight with us, with no third-party commission added to your room rate.
What's your cancellation policy?+
Cancellation terms are shown clearly at checkout when you book, before you pay anything.

Do you take group bookings or host private events?+
Yes — BunkHouse is available for private events and large bookings: sports teams, match-day crowds, stag/hen parties, clubs, school and work trips. Use the contact page or WhatsApp us with your dates and numbers and we'll put something together.
Is breakfast included?+
Breakfast isn't included in your room rate, but you've got a kitchen to make your own, plus plenty of cafés and bakeries right on St Mary Street.
